Ibrahima Bangoura has extended his contract for four seasons at KRC Genk. Bangoura arrived at Genk in the summer of 2022. Three seasons later, he has 47 games on the clock in the Challenger Pro League. Genk's successful U19 campaign in the UEFA Youth League last season also saw him in the starting line-up against Atlético Madrid at Madrid's iconic Metropolitana Stadium. The young Guinean manifested himself as one of the driving forces at Jong Genk over the past two seasons. Those sterling performances earned him a permanent place in the A-core in January. In the Champions' Play-offs, he then made his debut in the Jan Breydel stadium against Club Brugge. His steep rise earned Ibrahima an extended stay at the Cegeka Arena.
"I extended my contract because I feel good in Genk. They have a lot of confidence in me and I feel my progress is going well at the club. I had a good period at Jong Genk. Next season I want to take another step forward and confirm with the first team," Bangoura sounds full of ambition.
