Three prizes at Pro League Awards

Next Sunday, we play another all-important game against AA Gent. In a direct duel with the Buffaloes, we will fight for a spot in the second preliminary round of the Europe Conference League. Even before the curtain finally falls on the 2024-2025 season, the annual Pro League Awards were on the agenda on Monday evening. A year ago, 'Magic' Mike Trésor was voted best player from the Jupiler Pro League by his peers there. This season too, KRC Genk picked no less than three awards at the gala organised by the Pro League.

Nieuwsblad Talent of the season

After his impressive 2023-2024 season, Bilal El Khannouss confirmed his enormous potential more than once this season. With his unseen vista and abundance of technical baggage, he was our team's metronome more than once this season too. All players in professional football were able to vote and chose our Moroccan diamond as Nieuwsblad Talent of the season.

Most Clean Sheets

Maarten Vandevoordt then closes his career at KRC Genk with the clean sheets award for the 2024-2025 season. In 40 matches this season, he kept the score down 13 times. Next season, Maarten will make his long-awaited move to German top team Red Bull Leipzig.

Social Responsibility Project of the season

KRC Genk scores on and off the pitch. The KRC Genk Foundation has been proving that for more than 15 years. With our community operation, we want to give back to the society we get so much from as a club. A year ago, for instance, the KRC Genk Foundation, in collaboration with the Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen and vzw Menos, opened the doors of the KRC young dementia café for the first time. A place where people with young dementia and their fellow sufferers can meet in a relaxed manner. The KRC Genk jongdementie café was voted Social Responsibility Project of the season at the Pro League's annual award show . A motivation to continue the great work of our KRC Genk Forza Foundation off the pitch as well.
